Acquired by TransDigm (NYSE:TDGE) in July 2004, Avionic Instruments Inc.(AI2) had been a designer and producer of lightweight qualified power conversion equipment for military, commercial, and space applications. AI2 manufactured five principal power conversion equipment lines - DC to AC Static Inverters, AC to AC Frequency Converters, AC to DC Transformer Rectifiers (TRU), DC to DC Cockpit Light Dimmers and AC (or DC) to DC Switching Power Supplies. Products were assembled under an ISO 9001 quality assurance system approved by the U.S. Government, their prime subcontractors, and the aerospace community at large. The repair facility was fully certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
