Public Profile

Innovative Dynamics Inc (IDI) was founded to develop intelligent transportation systems for improved aircraft and ground vehicle safety when operating in hazardous weather conditions. The company specializes in ice protection solutions, including deicing and detection for highway, vehicle, aircraft, and ship applications. The firm is developing a range of sensor technologies that are applicable to intelligent transportation systems and help to reduce loss of life and prevent costly lawsuits. These sensors are based on acoustic, piezoelectric, capacitive, inductive, optical imaging or infrared measurement methods. The firm also provides expertise in analog electronics and signal processing software, pattern recognition, and neural network algorithms to fuse multiple sensor signals. This signal processing enables users to substantially improve signal to noise ratio and extract meaningful information from typical nonlinear electrical sensor signals. The firm is developing a range of technologies applicable to current and future aircraft engines. On-board sensors provide information to operators and associated support organizations enabling the practice of condition-based maintenance and consequent reduction in life cycle costs. The information is related to the condition of the engine components, lubrication, and fuel systems. IDI has also developed technology for in-situ monitoring of engine mounts and related structures. In addition, IDI has developed innovative ice protection technologies for a range of applications including: aircraft wing and engine inlets, ship decks, hatches, power lines, antenna towers, roofs and gutters, sidewalks and pavements.
