Formerly known as Advanced Technology, Inc. (until 1994) and originally located in NJ, Oryx Technology Corp. is a specialized materials-based business which designs, licenses and sells its proprietary technologies to provide electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection and to coat materials used in the disk drive industry. Through its subsidiary, Surg Corporation, the Company offers SurgX, an over-voltage protection component designed for extensive use on printed circuit boards. SurgX components are intended to address the low cost, low capacitance needs required for signal line protection in electronics. The Company also offers specialized materials assemblies based upon the its patented Intragene ceramic metallization and joining system. In what was to be an orderly wind down of the Company's business and operations agreed to in October 2009, the company creased operations.
