With the onjective to facilitate biomedical breakthroughs by making cell analysis and sorting technology more affordable and easier to use, NanoCellect Biomedical offers microfluidic flow cytometry platforms that enable biomedical scientists to analyze and sort cells required for drug discovery, diagnostics, and basic research. Spun out of University of Calfornia SanDeigo., the firm dedicated 6 years developing the foundation of the technology before launching the WOLF (the firm's first product) in 2016. NanoCellect Biomedical Inc. WOLF Cell Sorter was designed to provide cell sorting via a small, affordable machine avoiding the probelms of standard flow cytometers that are often shared amongst labs, leading to conflicts in sample handling and scheduling. Critically, existing cell sorters can also cause cell damaging shear stress that affects downstream applications, create biohazardous aerosols, and require highly trained technicians. The WOLF Cell Sorter uses an on-chip piezoacoustic actuator that gently directs cells into collection channels. This unique system allows analysis and sorting to take place within a disposable chip, which eliminates sample-to-sample contamination and biohazard aerosols. An embedded cell sorting verification system gives instant feedback of sorting accuracy.
