With close ties to Cornell, and a focus on development and manufacture products for the small molecule and macromolecular crystallography communities, MiTeGen designs and manufactures products for X-ray diffraction and crystallography of proteins and small molecule/inorganic compounds, and for manipulation and measurement of small samples in cell biology, histology, clinical diagnostics, entomology, archeology, and geology. Customers include academic, government, medical, pharamaceutical and industrial laboratories in more than 40 countries. Applying concepts and technologies from physics and related fields, the firm's first product - MicroMounts⢠- was developed by Prof. Robert Thorne's group in the Physics Department at Cornell
