Headquarted in Ardmore with facilites also in Austin TX., Amethysts Research was orginally organized around development of defect passivation technologies for improved operability of II-VI and III-V semiconductor FPAs, sensors and detectors for DoD. The companys technology portfolio has since grown now to include new infrared detector device design, materials growth, and analytical capabilities. Working with all US based infrared focal plane array manufacturers, the firm provides technologies to improve the performance and reduce the price of electro-optical sensors to ensure the most rapid deployment possible of the technology into both DoD and commercial markets. Amethysts development of ultra-high performance IR detectors has also resulted in development of high-resolution gas sensors based on these detectors. The Ardmore operation is centered on materials growth and analytics, while the Austin location focuses on IR detector processing and characterization as well as gas sensing systems.
