Carnegie Group Inc was acquired by UK firm Logica plc in Oct 1998. Founded by four researchers at Carnegie Mellon University, Carnegie Group graduated to providing customized software for the financial services, government, manufacturing, and telecommunications industries. Its software, made from reusable templates, focuses on customer interaction and logistics, planning, and scheduling. Projects include interactive Web sites, customer service software, and military operation software used by clients such as U S West Communications, BellSouth Telecommunications, and the US Transportation Command. Carnegie Group is a subsidiary of Logica Inc., the US subsidiary of UK-based information technology company Logica. Most sales come from the telecommunications segment.
