Boston, Mass., April 21, 2014 TrellisWare Technologies, a world leader in state-of-the-art wireless communications solutions and signal processing innovations, announced today that it deployed one of the largest Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks ever to support public safety and security operations for the Boston Marathon.

TrellisWare assisted in the deployment of over 100 wireless radios in a secure, reliable network that extended along the entire 26.2-mile marathon course, going through 8 different cities and multiple jurisdictions. This massive, infrastructureless communications network spanned a variety of challenging areas, including dense foliage, rolling hills, suburban and dense urban environments. TrellisWare's network allowed the assembled National Guard WMD-Civil Support Teams and EOD units Task Force-CBRNE to provide networked allhazards monitoring and detection through the entire route, a capability they previously did not have. TrellisWare's radios provided simultaneous voice communications, real-time data, chat and position location tracking on both PCs and handheld Android devices.

"We are very humbled to be asked to help," said Tom Carter, TrellisWare's CEO. "Being part of such a national event and making a significant contribution to the effectiveness and safety of our military, first responders and law enforcement is exactly why our team works so hard to do what we do. It's exciting to see how we continue to push the boundaries in MANET communications and do things never before thought possible."
