The North Carolina Technology Association handed out 25 NC Tech Awards to individuals and organizations from across the state at its annual awards dinner Thursday evening at the Raleigh Convention Center.

The awards recognize "excellence in technology and business," according to NCTA.

This year's winners:

Software Company -- Netsertive, which is based in Morrisville

Communications Technology Company -- ERC Broadband, Asheville

Industry Driven Company -- Jackrabbit Technologies, Huntersville

Innovative Product -- Cree, Durham

Best Consumer Web Company -- Stealz, Raleigh

Digital Marketing Company -- Bronto Software, Durham

New Media/Digital Company -- Automated Insights, Durham

Best Place to Work -- Skookum Digital Works, Charlotte

Fast Growth Small Company -- Windsor Circle, Durham

Fast Growth Large Company -- AvidXchange, Charlotte

Business Value -- Cisco, which has an office in Morrisville

Civic Good -- Small Footprint, Winston-Salem

Customer Service -- Sageworks, Raleigh

eCommerce -- ChannelAdvisor, Morrisville

Education -- Lea(R)n, Chapel Hill

Energy & The Environment -- Infosense, Charlotte

Finance & Banking -- nCino, Wilmington

Health & Wellness -- Valencell, Raleigh

Tech Exec of the Year -- Brett Martin, CEO of CastleBranch, Wilmington

Outstanding Achievement -- Cecil Smith, chief information officer of the North Carolina Electric Cooperatives

Public Leader -- Sen. Ralph Hise

Private Sector Chief Information Officer of the Year -- A.R. Mullinax, Duke Energy, Charlotte

Public Sector Chief Information Officer of the Year -- Jeff Stovall, City of Charlotte

Technology Educator of the Year -- Mark Edwards, Superintendent of Mooresville School District

Tech Woman of the Year -- Jennifer Minella, Carolina Advanced Digital of Cary

NCTA also recognized Top Ten Startups to Watch. They are: bioMason, Blue Gas Marine, Boss Key Productions, DocsInk, nCino, Next Glass, Organic Transit, Tapity, Validic and Windsor Circle.
