MIOX Corp. has received a new investment from TEL Venture Capital Inc., the corporate investment arm of Japanese semiconductor manufacturer Tokyo Electron Ltd.

Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

MIOX said in a news release Tuesday that the funding will help the company develop its latest water treatment devices.

MIOX designs and manufactures technology for on-demand water disinfection systems. Current investors in the venture capital-backed water technology business also include DCM, Sierra Ventures, Flywheel Ventures and Schlumberger Ltd.

"We believe it will be beneficial to learn more about water treatment and the industry's needs," said Kay Enjoji, president of TEL Venture Capital. "This is an exciting investment in a company that has the leading technology in their field."

"We are honored by TEL Venture Capital's commitment to our company and their dedication to solve capacity-limiting water issues," said Craig Beckman, MIOX President and CEO.
