​Huntsville, AL: September 18, 2014, Geocent has been honored with the Marshall Space Flight Center's Small Business Subcontractor Excellence Award for fiscal year 2014.

Representatives from over 500 large and small businesses and local city officials from Madison and Huntsville (including the Honorable Troy Trulock, Mayor of Madison, and John Hamilton, Huntsville City Administrator) gathered today at the Huntsville U.S. Space and Rocket Center's Davidson Center for Space Exploration for the MSFC Fiscal Year 2014 Industry and Advocates Award Ceremony. At the ceremony, Geocent, an information technology and engineering company with headquarters in New Orleans, LA, and Huntsville, AL, was recognized with the Small Business Subcontractor Excellence award.

The presenters, David Brock, MSFC Small Business Specialist, Kim Whitson, MSFC Procurement Director, and Craig Bowers of the NASA Office of Procurement, noted that Geocent was nominated for this award by both Jacobs Technology and the Boeing Company.

"It is an honor for Geocent and our employees to be recognized by two of our customers as providing excellent service," said Dr. Robert "Bobby" Savoie, Geocent's CEO. "This is a demonstration of the highly skilled and dedicated team members Geocent employs, and this award and the many awards we've been honored with attest to our great past performance and the excellence our customers have come to expect."

When asked how Geocent will be able to continue its winning track record, Tim Hutchison, Geocent's Director of the Federal Business Unit's Engineering Sector, reported that Geocent remains committed to hiring excellent people who will do excellent work for the customer. "That's how we'll be sure to be nominated again."
