The Austin-based company collected the capital from four investors, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Zebra Imaging, founded in 1996, develops technology producing 3-D images that can be seen without special glasses. The company employed 55 workers in 2009.
It was initially launched for automobile industry modeling and partially seed-funded by the Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F). Other investors reportedly included Nicholas Negroponte, founder of the MIT Media Lab; Delaware-based E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. (NYSE: DD); Seattle-based Voyager Capital; Nuevo Private Equities LP; and Las Vegas, Nev.-based SAIC Venture Capital Corp.
In late February, Zebra Imaging reported raising $5.6 million of a planned $7.4 million financing from 11 investors. The financing was an update to a December 2013 filing in which it reported raising $5 million of a planned $5.2 million financing.
In 2006, Zebra Imaging completed a $5.9 million Series C round of funding led by Voyager Capital.
