Public Profile

US Photonics works in femtosecond laser machining for nanometer and micron size features, specializing in taking submicron needs from conception to completion using the state of the art in design software, ultrafast laser machining, photolithography, mask projection laser machining, thin film deposition and chemical etching. The firm's full-line of photonics based instruments include: ultrafast optics, tools, accessories, modules and instrumentation. The comapany also specializes in fiber-optic components, non-linear optical materials and provide services in laser machining including: cutting, drilling, marking, engraving, shaping, forming and transforming materials using laser light. US Photonics can machine virtually any material including metals, metal alloys, gem stones, semiconductors, plastics, ceramics and glass. They can provide subtractive laser machining, but also specialize in additive machining through two photon polymerization allowing true 3-D rapid prototyping of your custom parts. Offering assistance in the fields of optics and photonics for a variety of nanotechnology applications including thinfilm deposition, nanobatteries, nanoparticle generation through Pulse Laser Deposition (PLD), nanosurface structuring, MEMS devices and microfluidics. The firm's R&D capabilities and use of advanced photolithography combined with femtosecond laser nanomachining allows creation of nanobatteries with 100nm cell sizes with massive power to weight ratios. Micromachining capabilities allow createion of MEMS devices integrating microfluidics, photonics components, electronics and sensors. US Photonics can develop procedures for manufacturing biomedical devices and specializes in BioAbsorbable materials and Shape Memory alloys like NiTinol., having the tools and skills needed to minimize or eliminate HAZ, slag, and recast as well as shape set, post process and electropolish.
