An expert is toileting related injuries, the desinated PI on this Qua Inc project is also long time President of Patient Care Ergobomic Solutions - a firm structured around development of tools/protocols to increase the support of safe patient handling and mobility programs. Areas of particular interest include distinct safe patient handling and mobility needs and exploration of the potential use of new, non-traditional assistive devices and ddressing gaps in safe patient handling and mobility education. With Phase II SBIR funding from the NIH, QUA Inc is partnering with the Human Engineering Research Lab at the University of Pittsburgh to refine the prototype design of the PPAL®, an innovative bedside commode that resolves transfer difficulties for older adults in need of toileting assistance.
