Public Profile

Nanochon is structured around providing on-demand solutions for treating joint injury. Coming out of Virginia but currently resident in JPod Philadelphia, the firm has developed a 3D printed, nanostructured material for cartilage repair and regrowth in joints -- effectively, the firm is offering an improvement (and alternative) to the clinical standard of total joint replacement as a treatment for joint disease. Joint replacements are impermanent and, as such, can be problematic for younger patients. To address this issue, Nanochon offers an implant designed not only to replace lost and damaged cartilage, but also to encourage new tissue growth. Using 3-D printing and a novel material, the Nanochon implant is a sturdy medical advancement that is both an orthopedic load-bearing implant as well a tissue growth scaffold. The Nanochon implant has the potential to deliver faster and more successful recoveries for patients, while reducing costs to health providers, payers, and patients. Nanochon’s aim is to set a new clinical standard for cartilage restoration.
