Spun out of research from Purdue University, Mobile Enerlytics provides services that enable energy-aware mobile application (app) development. The company's Eagle technology runs automated battery tests on appsin development stages and generates reports on areas of high battery drain. The technology is able to pinpoint specific energy hotspots in an app's source code so that developers can debug the app before it is released. The company also monitors battery use following an app's release, and its eStar technology significantly extends phone's battery life by helping users install only energy-efficient apps and remove all energy-inefficient apps.
