In 1999 M Technologies, Inc. was acquired by EDO Corporation a mid-sized lager firm in similar space. M Technologies had been focused to the then rapidly evolving fields of smart weapons multiple carriage industry specializing in MIL-STD-1760 multiple carriage weapopn systems while also providing armament consulting to Patuxent River NAS for Armament Programs including the F/A-18 aircraft. The firm had a major contract for production of the BRU-57/A Smart Rack. Smart Rack doubles the smart weapons loadout on aircraft such as the F-16 and F/A-18, providing a significant increase in Air Force and Navy smart weapons capability with increased survivability and cost savings.
