The firm provided design, analysis, testing, and fabrication of aerospace structural systems and components within the companys five core competencies; structural design, thermal management, composite fabrication, strain energy mechanisms, and deployable structures. Initially the firm provided highly technical structural design and testing to the Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicles Directorate. In December 2020, it was announced that Redwire - a new player in mission critical space solutions and high reliability components for the next generation space economy - had acquired LoadPath, a leading developer of payload adapters, deployable structures, and thermal products for the space industry. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
