In September 2019, Livermore Software Technology Corporation (LSTC) was acquired by ANSYS ( NASDAQ:ANSS) - a large PA -based corporation developing engineering simulation software used to predict how product designs will behave and how manufacturing processes will operate. Livermore Software Technology Corporation (LSTC) was the original development source of LS-DYNA (an advanced general-purpose multiphysics simulation software package) and a suite of related and supporting engineering software products originally developed by the Founder of Livermore Software - Dr John O Halquist while - he had been at Lawrence Livermore National Labs (LLNL) in 1976. LSTC and its world-wide distributorship network, market and support LSTC's solutions to an ever-growing community of engineers and designers who demand the cutting edge performance and unique features and capabilities that LS-DYNA and its supporting products provide. Livermore Software Technology Corporation (LSTC) is expanding worldwide working with software developers in the area of multimaterial Eulerian fluids coupled with Lagrangian structure and heat transfer for application in manufacturing, such as forging, casting; in aerospace, for bird strike on aircraft structure; in automotive; fluid structure interactions in fuel tanks and tire hydroplaning; and in defense, for ordnance design and underwater explosions.
