Lindgren-Pitman Inc was originally founded to manufacture deck gear for the longline fishing industry. One of the first products produced was an electric motor conversion on a Penn Senator fishing reel. The firm was also one of the first companies to engineer a longline spool specifically for monofilament fishing line. This improved version of fishing reduced crew size and bolstered Lindgren-Pitmans image as apremier manufacturer of pelagic longline products. The firm then designed and began to produce their own line of commercial grade fishing line, called Primeline. Doing so made it possible for customers to purchase an entire longline system specifically designed to work together as a complete package. New products developed by the firm include the Electralume fishing light, an LED powered fishing light that has become a light of choice for sword fishermen.
