Farad Power Inc develops carbon composite materials for energy storage devices that have improvements over existing electrode materials for batteries and super capacitors. The technology takes agricultural waste, turns it into Furfuryl alcohol, and uses the extracted material to synthesize their carbon composites. Materials created using this technology include low surface-area hard carbons, carbon-silicon composites, pre-lithiated and pre-sodiated carbon-sulfur composites. This technology has applications such as ultra-fast charging lithium-ion capacitors, small electric vehicles, high energy-density batteries as an alternative to lithium-based anodes, electric aircraft vehicles, and other energy storage needs.
