With only limited SBIR presence but reasonablly well funded from elsewhere, AutoModality Inc was acquired in November 2022 CA based FarmX - a firm offering a precision agriculture platform for optimizing costs and increasing yields for farmer. Automodality had been structured around development of UAV flight control software for use in infrastructure inspection such as bridges, culverts, rolling-stock and cell towers. The company has developed fully-autonomous mobile systems that enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and safety of inspections and that also reduce future maintenance. The firm's perceptive Navigation technology platform enables the firm's UAV systems to fly autonomously in GPS-denied locations and to fly close to the asset being inspected to ensure the quality and repeatability of data collection.
