Automedx Inc produces the SAVe (Simplified Automated Ventilator), which is a self-contained, battery operated, lightweight ventilating device designed and built for the battlefield medic. With a simple on and off switch, it requires minimal training and can be quickly deployed. The unit has a single tidal volume and respiratory rate which eliminates guess work and reduces operator error. For safety and portability, the unit does not require compressed gas. Instead, the unit uses a battery driven pump to deliver ambient air for 5+ hours on a single charge.
