With a focus on bolstering high-speed networking technology, Aurrion was acquired by Juniper Networks in August 2016, Aurrion had been working on heterogeneous integration for silicon photonic integrated circuits (PICs). AurrionÂ’s technology is focused to leveraging the capability and low cost of silicon IC manufacturing yet retaining the performance of advanced non-silicon materials. The technology provides a bridge between traditional III-V materials used for photonics and silicon in CMOS compatible platform. Aurrion, Inc. develops hybrid silicon photonic integrated circuits.
