Atmospheric Observing Systems Inc (AOS) provides climate researchers with instrumentation to make objective measures of Earthâs climate. Specific products being designed include high precision monitors of the Earthâs atmosphere that can operate autonomously in remote locations for years without repair or maintenance. AOS developed a CO2 Analyzer, the Ocean Flux Analyzer System, for the accurate measurement of air-sea exchange of CO2. The Ocean Flux Analyzer System utilized a non-dispersive Infrared (NDIR) technique and surface layer similarity theory to derive air-sea gas exchange measurements for carbon dioxide. The firm next tackled the measurement of vertical profiles of carbon dioxide above terrestrial ecosystems. The CO2 Airborne Analysis System incorporates all gas processing equipment required to achieve high precision measurements of carbon dioxide on-board light, or heavy aircraft. The system is uniquely constructed to take advantage of NDIR optics and has no moving parts, operating in either continuous or stop-flow mode, with negligible sensitivity to motion. The company is also developing a high altitude balloon and an autonomous water vehicle that can be used to measure and analyze C
