Relatively inactive as a company in 2002, in April 2003, Artecel Sciences Inc. closed an agreement with a newly created entity substantially to sell all of the company's assets. Artecel Sciences, Inc. had been a biotechnology company applying its expertise in adipose tissue (fat) biology to develop products that address unmet medical needs. The Company used a proprietary system for the study of human adipose tissue components, including adult stem cells. The Companyâs most advanced program had bee in the area of cell therapy, where work was underway to develop potential products for soft tissue cosmesis, hematopoietic support in bone marrow transplantation, bone repair and cartilage repair.
