Arkana Laboratories - formerly operating as NephroPath - specializes in the analyses of renal biopsies, but has expanded its services to include a wide-variety of pathologic services. These services include PLA2R serum testing for primary membranous glomerulopathy patients, molecular pathology and genomics, and muscle and nerve biopsies, and research focused on harnessing the power of the zebrafish and microinvertebrate model systems. It is reproted that Arkana handles about 40% of all kidney biopsies performed annually in the US annually factoring to some 24,000 annually with samples coming from 44 states. In addition to renal pathology, Arkana Laboratories also provides neuropathology services and contract research.
