Alluvium Biosciences addresses challenging production problems related to natural product chemical compounds. Core expertise in natural product biosynthesis has led to the development of a multi-disciplinary approach for solving the most difficult issues related to the large-scale production of high-value natural product compounds. Through the combined application of genomics, genetic engineering, microbiology, biochemistry, natural product chemistry and chemical synthesis we first aim to elucidate how these compounds are produced in nature. This detailed knowledge is then applied toward the development of rationally engineered production technologies that emulate natural occurring processes for efficient production of desirable natural product compounds. Alluvium Biosciences Inc. develops production platforms for the generation of high-value natural product compounds that have utility within the pharmaceutical, bio-energy, and/or specialty chemical markets. Low cost, scalable production of desirable natural product compounds is often considered a challenging endeavor due to their complex chemical composition, making them difficult to generate synthetically. Fermentation of the producing organism is often the only way to access chemically complex compounds; however, low production yields from wild-type strains lead to high manufacturing costs. To alleviate these barriers, Alluvium Biosciences develops and applies novel synthetic biology technologies to our customers natural product production problems, enabling higher yields, lower production costs and efficient manufacturing processes.
