Spun out of the University of Hawaii, Akabotics LLX has developed CATO, an amphibious robot capable of mapping, monitoring, and removing sediment from a waterway in a cost-efficient and environmentally friendly manner. CATO is a first-of-its-kind autonomous and continuous maintenance dredging solution and offers a 90% Reduction in fossil fuel consumption and an 80% reduction in project costs as a result of reducing equipment, mobilization and labor costs.
