Agricultural Research Initiatives is a research and development company focus on improvement of various crop systems (field, vegetable, ornamental and related) through development of innovative technologies including microencapsulation, microPCMs, mycoherbicides and biofungicides. Emphasis has been on use of technologies to manipulate microenvironmental parameters to improve biological controls as well as to reduce frost and heat damage in susceptible crop plants. Currently, ARI is attempting to launch the mycoherbicide LockDown (formerly Collego) for control of Northern Jointvetch in mid-south rice. The mycoherbicide has been moved back through EPA and granted registration status and is in the launch production stage of development with anticipated sales of a limited amount of mycoherbicide product.
