In February 2006, Agilix was acquired ny PerkinElmer Inc. Agilix Corporation was organized around next generation functional genomics and proteomics platform technologies for the systematic discovery and analysis of genes, their protein products and related biological functions. The firm's technologies and services wer designed to help reduce the risk, cost and time to market for new pharmaceutical, biotechnology and agricultural products. uUtiizing licensed numerous technologies licensed from Yale University, Agilix offered access to unique technologies and services that enable users to globally interrogate the expressed genes and proteins of biologically diverse organisms to ultimately increase the speed and cost-effectiveness of target discovery and new product development. Agilix's GenCompassTM was among the first universal whole genome microarray platform that globally profiles the expressed genes of any organism. Access to GenCompass was through Agilix's collaborative research services. The Company's i-PROTTM Labeling technology - a versatile protein labeling technology - allowed multiplex protein profiling, in vivo labeling and high throughput assay development.
