Aegis Biosciences formerly of Granada Hills, CA and Palm Harbor, FL in May 2005, moved part of its company into SIRTI facilities in Spokane, WA. Aegis will focus on research and development of biomedical drug delivery and wound healing technologies at its newest location. The rest of Aegis' general business operations will continue out of the company's Palm Harbor, FL location. The research and development focus for Aegis at SIRTI is directed toward a wound dressing incorporating Aegis' proprietary biomaterial-drug delivery polymer. The first set of clinical studies will be undertaken late this year, and by 2006 the polymer dressing products will make their market debut after U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval.
