Abstract Engineering LLC has designed and developed a product, Shower Stream, that is a smart shower aimed at reducing water and energy waste from shower warm-up. The company has calculated that on average, $100 is wasted in water and energy cost per year, as showers are running without a user entering the shower, which averages $30,000 per hotel annualy. This adds up to over 200 billion gallons of water wasted each year and over 3 terawatts of power. The firm's solution is a motion sensitive valuve installed on a shower that is wifi-enabled and feeds data to a cloud based analytical software.
