The core detector is based on an ion trap design and is approximately the size of a shoe box, weighing 15 lbs/7 kg. 1st Detect's Miniature Chemical Detector provides rapid analysis time and is capable of detecting residues and vapors from a wide range of chemicals including explosives, chemical warfare agents, toxic chemicals, and volatile organic compounds. The broadband nature of the instrument, as well as the extreme performance provided by the ion trap architecture, make the 1st Detect MCD an ideal detection tool for a variety of applications. This disruptive technology comes at a significantly reduced cost, allowing for new markets and industries to take advantage of this breakthrough in chemical detection.
