Inefficient crop spraying causes drift which can lead to crop damage or unwanted pesticide use in neighboring non-target crop areas. It may contaminate nearby bodies of water or be an issue for human health. Our company can significantly reduce this through the implementation of a sensor system which would produce a quick calibration analysis by determining the efficiency of sprayer machines and the spray pattern of the material in real time. Small farmers tend to skip the calibration process due to the time and labor of the task. However by completing the task in the frequency recommended by the cooperative extension experts they will essentially reduce the cost of wasted materials and increase guarantee of uniform spray to avoid pest infestations. Small orchards and vineyards are our intended initial customers. Our sensor would be used by them to replace a tedious and often ignored task. This would revolutionize the way calibration has been performed throughout the past and thereby changing the perspective of the way farmers view calibration.
