Early in Phase I of this project we begin testing and can deliver an extremely flexible prototype helmsman's vertical acceleration display and recording system. This low cost marinized PC based device can present acceleration historiesof any position of the boat in multiple formats on a high resolution sunlight readable display. Like an aircraft "black box", but with more memory, it can archive internally the entire performance history of the life of the boat. The profile of each wave encountered and the boat's instantaneous dynamic state can be uploaded for further analysis using multiple protocol options. On the water testing during Phase I will enable the instumentation of all delivered special forces 10 Meter RIBs and Mark V craft for further evaluation during Phase II. The accelerated schedule is made possible by our extensive experience with planing boat inertial data aquisition, ancillary to our independent development of low cost ride control systems.
