Therapeutic proteins are the fastest growing class of pharmaceuticals – they provide specificity that is difficult to achieve with small molecule drugs. However, protein therapeutics present their own difficulties in development and manufacturing. They require physical stability at high concentrations (150 mg/ml for IgG) for efficacy and low viscosities (

Public Health Relevance Statement:
Project Narrative The proposed research is intended to establish a new paradigm for rapidly improving the viscosity of biopharmaceuticals. The lower the viscosity, the easier the biopharmaceuticals will be to administer making them simpler to use and easier for the patient to tolerate, thus allowing for greater and more effective use of the products.
