The proposed Phase I research seeks to develop innovative tunable IR filters based on phase change plasmonic composite materials. Concepts for a switchable device that is capable of providing dynamic narrowband spectral properties within the 3-12 micron wavelength range will be developed.

Benefit:
The anticipated benefits of the proposed Phase I effort, will be novel tunable IR filters with ultra-fast switching characteristics across the 3-12 micron range. Potential commercial applications of the proposed research and development include IR tunable filters for IR sensor applications.
