We propose to develop a novel magnetic sensing suite to aid in identification of unexploded ordinance in unmanned undersea survey.

Benefit:
Positive identification of unexploded ordinance can reduce time and cost for littoral threat characterization in complex seabed environments.

Keywords:
Magnetic Gradiometer, Magnetic Gradiometer, UUV magnetic sensing, magnetometer

Phase II

Contract Number: N68335-19-C-0086
Start Date: 12/21/2018    Completed: 7/7/2021
Phase II year
2019
Phase II Amount
$998,952
We propose to build and test a Multimodal Magnetic Sensing System (MMSS) suitable for installation on an ROV platform for enhanced capability for identifying undersea targets.

Benefit:
The MMS system will enhance the Navy's capability to quickly and positively distinguish threats on the seafloor from benign objects.

Keywords:
Magnetic Sensor, undersea survey.
