The Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) deploys multiple Unmanned Vehicles in support of the interchangeable Mission Packages. The Multiple Vehicle Communications System (MVCS) provides LCS Mission Packages with the capability to simultaneously communicate with multiple Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) and surfaced Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs) by providing common data link and network communication services. The objective of this research is to develop a JTRS compliant waveform that meets the requirements of the MVCS and provides the ability to operate in environments of 20 dB Jammer to Signal power density. Aeronix proposes the COMMX based SC-FDMA Anti Jam (CSAJ) JTRS compliant waveform for the replacement of the PRC-117 radio within the MVCS system. The CSAJ waveform will address the following challenging areas: Operating in heavy sea states, states 6-9 Operating in J/S environment of 20 dB 500 kbps return and 50 kbps forward using OFDM bit dense techniques Multiband HF Cognitive decision making. JTRS Compliant Waveforms Use DARPA developed COMMX technology provided by BAE

Benefit:
Applications for robust communication systems exist in both the DoD and the commercial markets. Communications in contested environments whether intentional or not are common in military scenarios as well as commercial applications, the interference continues to grow as spectrum use grows. Our solution makes use of SC-FDMA principles, a suite of anti-jam OFDM functions, and the DARPA developed COMMX functionality, use of the later will limit the solution to DoD entities. The target of this research is for LCS, however the technology and the waveform has many applications across the DoD, potential platforms exist in the following areas: the NAVY fleet in general for over the horizon communications, air to sea communications, communications in high multipath environments, and communications in highly contested areas (high interference). Similarly in the commercial world markets for this communication waveform include the following as a small subset, as the application space is large: ship, buoy to shore communications, port communications, and land shore communications.
