The proposed compact hybrid power system is a multi-faceted solution existing as the combination of highly advanced solar energy harvesting and power management digital control algorithms, very high density and efficiency power electronics modules, and a highly optimized modular power block solution. The proposed system increases the density of hybrid power systems nearly 10X over currently fielded technology, while improving the overall efficiency, capability, and flexibility.

Benefit:
There are numerous potential benefits for commercial applications. In particular, remote utility monitoring is a clear target, where high density, efficiency and reliability are key parameters necessary to allow remote monitoring, operations, etc. Additionally, emergency response needs can be much better met with the high density modular system.
