Sensera, Inc. proposes to develop a passive TIC multi analyte sensor badge. The badge is based on a detailed investigation of the properties of the analyte vapors and can be made in several configurations to suit the intended analytes. It can also be made to have dual transduction capability. The badge will give a rapid general alarm with provision for further on site characterization of the threat.During Phase I, we will develop a promising library of reagents suitable for different sensor badge configurations. We will also conduct preliminary studies on various transduction modes. For the Phase I option, we will study in detail the use of liquid crystals for visual indication and the design of the circuit for electronic monitoring. During Phase II, the design of the sensor badges will be optimized and actual units will be fabricated and tested
