Edge Technologies, Inc. proposes to design and build fixtures and modify existing production equipment and processes to experimentally machine ultra-hard domes provided by the Navy. The primary objective is to determine basic feasibility of amorphous silicon oxide chemical machining of cvd diamond domes by determining material removal rate and surface finish obtained under various experimental conditions.
