The goal of this project is to develop electrochemically sensitive detectors whose signal depends on the potential developed by electrochemical or enzymatic reactions. Biologically selective materials such as polyclonal or monoclonal antibodies are immobilized at the electrode surface. In these proposed bisensors the high specificity and selectivity of biological molecules are combined with the high sensitivity and rapidity of electronic detection for analysis of a wide variety of hormones, toxins, and drugs at very low concentrations (i.e. = or < than 10x -9m).
