Arrow Science and Technology is beginning with a generic concept as the basis for establishing a comprehensive set of Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs) leading to the baseline design of a Multi-Mode Platform System (MMPS). The MMPS will serve as a common platform system across air, sea, and ground launch systems. Through the use of cannister or sabot elements, the MMPS will be capable of launch all target missile systems commonly used for intercept missile tests. Key evaluation factors for our AoAs emphasize reduced operational costs through recoverability and reusability. By evaluating advanced materials and manufacturing techniques such as metallic and non-metallic additive manufacturing techniques, carbon-fiber, and traditional manufacturing, a baseline system design will be developed that supports the significant loads experienced by a mobile launch platform - particularly during the air launch case. Our Phase 1 activities will focus on the refinement of our identified AoAs, the completion of the AoAs, and establishing a baseline design. Our Phase I option activities will include documenting the baseline design, conducting analyses, developing manufacturing and test plans, developing operational procedures, identifying any material, process, and outsourced part suppliers, and refining the development and operational costs.
