This project team will develop a prototype of a digital library to host research-based early literacy games. The library will include playlists that organize content by topics and provide resources to integrate games into practice for use in classrooms and remotely. A backend algorithm will keep track of children's progress and a dashboard will present results on each targeted game, whether they play it in class, at intervention block time, in a tutoring session, or at home with their family, to inform further instruction. At the end of Phase I the project team will conduct a pilot study with four grade 1 educators and 100 students who play five prototype games over four weeks. The team will examine whether the prototype functions as planned, whether educators believe the data presented by the prototype dashboard is accurate and useful, and whether children are engaged while using the prototype games.
