The overall goal is to develop a Virtual Learning LaunchPad prototype and to compare the learning by students viewing this prototype with a traditional video lecture. The Virtual Learning LaunchPad will merge six delivery methods to greatly compress delivery time of a complex concept in reproductive science. The technologies incorporated will be: 3-dimensional anatomical reconstructions, step-animations, streaming-animations, voice over, ¿must know¿ information and ¿instant replay¿. The Virtual Learning LaunchPad will be tested at seven universities to evaluate learning/ comprehension among 420 3rd year students. Our hypothesis is that the Virtual Learning LaunchPad will enable students to learn more at a greater depth and at a faster rate when compared to students viewing a traditional delivery method of the same subject matter. If successful, our prototype will establish the framework around which complex, health-related, biological information can be accomplished in a complete E-learning format for university students, practicing professionals and educators in need of continuing education. Such products are almost non-existent in the E-learning marketplace.
