The objective of this proposal is to create a consulting framework that reduces associated professional development costs for schools implementing the technology recommendations of NCLB Title I, Part D. This is achieved by creating an aggregation platform and methodology for integrating data in both Student Interchange Format (SIF) and non-SIF sources into digital representations of learning management forms already in use by instructors. Phase I research will quantify expected teacher productivity improvements over traditional systems dependent upon extensive professional development prior to their use, and provide proof-of-concept trials of the aggregation system and mapping methodology. Results from this research will enable Phase II deliverables of: 1) an open-source aggregator used to tie together existing learning management data stores into a simple document and folder based interface modeled on forms already familiar to the teacher, and 2) a consulting service featuring an aggregation scripting model and mapping methodology to generate those forms. Benefits to customers of this consulting service include reduced professional development costs, faster technology implementations, and confident capture of student achievement data for consumption by all stakeholders.
