Improvement in Organic Photovoltaic (OPV) device efficiencies is limited in part by the structure of the active layer and absorbance of light over the full solar spectrum. Additionally, methods to increase the probability of photon capture, and to optimize exciton diffusion, charge separation and charge transport are also needed.
