Grid infrastructure allows multiple organizations, such as collaborators on DOE projects, to share and exchange a wide variety of computing resources. To extend and complement this infrastructure, this project will develop a multi-party and multi-resource settlement engine to account for resource sharing among these organizations. The software engine will track the contribution and consumption of computing resources for each Grid site and determine who-owes-what-to-whom. Phase I will investigate the feasibility of the software system by developing a prototype. Commercial Applications and Other Benefits as described by awardee: The technology should enable enterprises and service providers to share and exchange resources. It should impact a broad class of services including next generation wireless, broadband, online content delivery, and Web services
